Why go to Singapore
Children love Sentosa, Universal Studios, the zoo and the Night Safari. Adults love Gardens by the Bay, the view over Marina Bay and the food courts (called hawker centres), where a good meal is cheap. English is spoken everywhere, and trains and buses are simple to use.
Little India, around Serangoon Road, feels familiar, and it’s a good place to stay on a budget.
Best time to visit Singapore
Singapore is warm all year, around 30°C. February to April is usually the driest time. November to January has the most rain, often in heavy afternoon storms. June and December school holidays make attractions busier.

Singapore visa for Indians
Visa before you flyLast checked October 2026
Indian passport holders need a visa for Singapore. You can’t apply on your own: you apply through an authorised visa agent, and many travel agents in Delhi are authorised. It usually takes a few working days, so apply at least two weeks before you fly.
Everyone, with or without a visa, must also fill in the free SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arriving.
Apply only on the official site, ica.gov.sg, or through a trusted agent. Look-alike sites charge extra. Rules change, so check again before you book.
Flight time and fares from Delhi
Nonstop flights from Delhi take about 5½ hours, and many fly overnight, landing early in the morning. Fares rise around Diwali, Christmas and the Indian summer holidays.
Singapore also works as the start of a two-country trip. Kuala Lumpur is about an hour away by air or five to six hours by bus, and Bali is about 2½ hours away by air.
Getting from the airport
Changi Airport is on the MRT train network, and the ride to the city takes about 45 minutes. A taxi takes 20 to 30 minutes. Jewel, the big indoor waterfall, is linked to Terminal 1, so leave time for it before your flight home.
How many days you need
Four days covers the main sights. Families doing Sentosa, Universal Studios and the zoo should plan five or six days.
Food for Indian travellers
Vegetarian food is easy to find, especially in Little India and at hawker centres. You’ll find North Indian, South Indian and Jain-friendly places.
